Choose Your Fuel!
It is important to be aware of the fuel types available near your location. Select a fuel type that can be easily acquired in your area prior to selecting a heater. This will save time and get your new heater up and running more quickly. Please review the different fuel types below.
Electric
Efficiency and portability combine to provide quick heat from compact, stylish units. Designed for high performance with minimum maintenance. Ideal for indoor or outdoor use.
Propane and Natural Gas
Fast, reliable heat for jobsites, workshops, and homes. Easy to operate, and include safety features for worry-free operation.
Kerosene
Potable heaters offer the option of kerosene as fuel source. Large fuel tank on some units makes them ideal for loading docks, warehouses and other large areas.
Corn/Oil
Corn stoves offer an environment-friendly heat source, burning shelled corn to warm your home while cutting heating costs. Waste oil heater burns used oil to generate up to 120,000 BTU of heat.
Wood
Wood heaters provide efficiency and ambiance of burning wood while cutting heating costs. Some cast iron stoves burn either wood or coal, and some offer a stove-top cooking surface in addition to heating comfort.
Size Your Heater!
Which model is right for you? Start by determining the following:
- How large is the area being heated in cubic feet? Calculate area dimensions (Length x Width x Height) = Total Cubic Feet
- What is the desired temperature increase to be gained by the heater? Calculate (Desired temperature(with Heater) - Area temperature(without heater)) = Desired Temperature Increase
- Calculate the BTU's required to achieve desired temperature. Calculate ((Total Cubic Feet x .133) x Desired Temperature Increase) = BTU's Required
The above calculations are estimates to measure your needs. Building construction contributes to BTU requirements also.
